Fish Consumption Advisory for Certain Walpole Waterways

The following are advisories that have been issued by the Massachusetts Environmental Toxicology Program for Walpole water bodies:

NEPONSET RIVER between Hollingsworth & Vose Dam in Walpole and the Walter Baker Dam in Boston: Children under 12, pregnant and/or nursing mothers and women of childbearing age, fish contaminated with PCBs and DDT, DO NOT EAT, catch and release. All other people, DO NOT EAT eel or white sucker, catch and release. Limit consumption of other fish to two meals per month.

WILLET POND in Walpole, Norwood and Westwood: Children under 12, pregnant and/or nursing mothers and women of childbearing age, fish contaminated with mercury, DO NOT EAT largemouth bass, catch and release. All other people, limit consumption of loudmouth bass to two meals per month.

PETTEE POND in Walpole and Westwood: Children under 12, pregnant and/or nursing mothers and women of childbearing age, fish contaminated with mercury, DO NOT EAT largemouth bass, catch and release. All other people, limit consumption of loudmouth bass to two meals per month.
