Walpole Cultural Council

The Walpole Cultural Council is a Local Cultural Council (LCC) of the Massachusetts CulturalMassachusetts Cultural Council Council (http://www.mass-culture.org). Our mission is to provide support for Walpole artists and arts organizations, and to help Walpole groups to provide access to the arts and sciences. The Walpole Cultural Council receives grant moneys from the Massachusetts Cultural Council each year. These funds, in turn, are allocated to local artists and organizations through the LCC grants program. We also review applications for the PASS program, which subsidizes ticket costs to arts events for school and youth groups. Grant applications are due on October 15 of each year. The Walpole Cultural Council usually meets in early November to consider grant applications for the upcoming year.

Our funding priorities are for projects that:

  • have a broad community appeal
  • represent new or previously unsupported artists, particularly local artists
  • demonstrate a benefit to Walpole
  • demonstrate local support with a sponsor or other local tie

Projects should be scheduled for the upcoming fiscal year (January to December), since we do not receive funds until January. We wish to support programs that involve community-wide events, proposals that appeal to families, youth, and/or seniors, and projects that provide arts education in our schools and community. We encourage grant proposals of all disciplines. Applications with a local contact or sponsor are given preference. Most grants are small (under $1,000).
