- Farmers Market, 2:00 to 6:30 PM at the Town Common. Enjoy the opportunity to shop local and buy fresh directly from area farmers, food producers, and artisans. Last Day - October 26

- 8th Annual Walpole Arts & Music Fest, 10:00 AM. - 3:00 PM at the fields outside Blackburn Hall. The 8th Annual Walpole Arts & Music Fest is an eclectic event for every age group. There are all types of art for sale such as oil, water colors, pottery, photography, wood, jewelry. Come and watch the artists at work as they create pieces on the grounds. Come kick-off your holiday shopping. There will also be the middle school poetry slam, which has become a favorite element of the day. There will be food vendors cooking up fabulous creations to fill your bellies. This year there will also be a downtown stroll, and other elements to enjoy Walpole’s beautiful downtown. - Ladies Night Out I at Potters Place: 7:00-9:00pm, choose a Thursday: Oct. 6, Nov. 3, Dec. 8, or Jan. 12 If you've always wanted to try your hand at creating a functional piece of art from a lump of clay, this handbuilding workshop is for you. You'll learn the basics of pottery including slab rolling, coil making, using texturizing tools and stampers, attaching decorative elements, etc. You will create a beautiful serving platter that will be finished for you in the glaze combination that you choose. - Big Truck Day, 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at the Memorial Park Parking Lot. Come out to explore and enjoy some of our town’s awesome big trucks. Please park at Blackburn Hall as there will be no parking in the Memorial Playground Parking Lot. In case of emergency, some big trucks may be unavailable.
Friday, October 14
- 3rd Annual Spookfest, 8:00 PM - Midnight at Beckett's. The night will include a DJ, dancing to 80’s tunes, disco, spooky party songs and good ol rock n’ roll, munchies, games, silent auction, raffles and fabulous decorations and more surprises all night long. The tickets are only $15 pre-sale or $20 at the door. Costumes are preferred, but not mandatory. Tickets are available at the Walpole Recreation Department and at Rockland Federal Credit Union at the Marketplace Shopping Center on Main Street. - Keep Your Family Safe from Fire, Fire Department Open House, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM at the Central Fire Station, 20 Stone St. The Walpole Fire Department will be holding its annual Open house for fire safety week at the center fire station on October 15th from 10am until 2pm. The theme for 2011 is “keep your family safe from fire”. This a great opportunity for the public to come into the fire station and meet their local firefighters, also for children to see the fire apparatus and equipment. As in years past Papa Gino’s will donate pizza. The Sheriff Department will be displaying the command center as well as donating their canteen truck and will be serving hamburgers and drinks. - Kids Try-it Workshop at Potters Place: 9:30-11:00am, choose a Saturday: September 24 (Lidded Pumpkin), October 15 (Thanksgiving Turkey) or November 5 (Holiday Decoration) If your child (age 6 or older) has expressed an interest in trying pottery, but is unable to commit to an ongoing session, this is the perfect workshop. The basics of pottery will be taught in this 1 1/2 hour workshop during which kids will create a unique handbuilt item from 1 lb. of clay. They will further decorate their creation with stampers, texturizing tools, and paints, and leave it to be clear coated and kiln fired. Cost per workshop is $25 per child and is led by Carolyn Shedd. - Playground Opening, 10:00 AM - Noon at Bird Park. Join the Trustees of Reservations and the Friends of Francis William Bird Park in celebration for the new children's playground.

- Pumpkins in the Park, 5:30 -7:30 PM at Francis William Bird Park. The Trustees of Reservations and many volunteers invite you to come join the fun as we illuminate the pathways and ponds with pumpkins.
- Tea Bread Tasting at Fancy That, 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM at 272 Main Street, Walpole MA. Now's no time to lament the passing of summer - not with our Autumn tea bread flavours to look forward to! - Morning Adult Pottery Classes at Potters Place in Walpole: Learn the basics of handbuilding and wheel throwing, with an opportunity to explore more advanced techniques. These classes are for beginners through advanced. Each class meets for 3 hours once a week for 6 or 8 weeks starting the week of October 26th. The fee is $200 plus firing fees for 6 weeks or $265 plus firing fees for 8 weeks. Morning Adult classes: Wednesdays, 10-1pm (with Lizanne Donegan starting October 26 thru December 14th for 6 weeks).
- Pottery Classes for Kids and Teens at Potters Place in Walpole: Afternoon Children’s classes: 3:30-5:00 pm Wednesdays, Oct. 26 – Dec. 14. For students First grade and above. Encourage your children to explore their artistic capabilities while getting their hands dirty! Learn basic techniques of coiling, pinching and building with slabs. Some wheel work included. Classes meet for 6 weeks and are led by Lizanne Donegan. Cost is $135 and includes materials and firings.

- "Magic by George", 2:30 PM at Beckett's Function Room, 1065 Main St. (Route 1A South. This year features the multi-award winning “Magic by George.” Tickets available at the door. Admission is Free for children 2 and under and adults, $5 for Children over 2. Admission will be paid at the door. The event is sponsored by Sharon Credit Union and all proceeds will benefit Cradles to Crayons.
Saturday, October 29
- 18th Annual Halloween Parade & 1st Ever Post-Party, 10:30 AM at Blackburn Hall. During the parade, there will be a costume contest and then kids can trick-or-treat at participating downtown businesses. After the parade, we will host our first-ever Halloween party. We will have music, crafts, games, face painters and more back at Blackburn Hall. Prizes will be awarded at the party.
