Something
in Your Water is Changing
In
an effort to provide better water quality and reduce disinfection
by-product formation, we will be changing our water treatment disinfection
process during the first week of May 2008.
More
particularly we will be converting from chlorine to chloramines.
While the vast majority of consumers will not be affected by the
change, kidney dialysis patients and fish owners will need to take
special care in using chlorinated water.
This
notice is intended to provide a brief summary of this project as
all Walpole water consumers were mailed an informational pamphlet
that provided an in-depth description. If you did not receive this
pamphlet or if you need more information regarding this change,
please contact the Water Department at (508) 660-7307.

Fluoridation
Resumes
On Monday,
March 3, 2008, the Water Department will resume fluoridation of
Walpole's water supply.
Those consumers
that opted for supplemental treatments during the time period in
which we did not add fluoride to the water should contact their
dentist or physician to obtain advice on continuing such.
The Water Department
wishes to thank all of the residents that were affected by the chemical
shortage and we are hopeful that it can be avoided in the future.
Further information
related to this matter can be obtained by contacting the Water Department
at (508) 660-7307.
