    Crider Inc. Recalls Canned Organic Roasted Chicken Breast Due to Possible Foreign Matter Contamination

    WASHINGTON, Oct. 25, 2016 – Crider Inc., a Stillmore, Ga., establishment, is recalling approximately 5,610 pounds of canned Organic Roasted Chicken Breast that may be contaminated with foreign materials the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.

    The cans of Wild Planet Organic Roasted Chicken Breast were produced on January 16, 2016. The following products are subject to recall: [View Label(PDF only)]

    •1,496 cases of 5 ounce cans of “Wild Planet Organic Roasted Chicken Breast – 100% Chicken Breast & Sea Salt – No Liquids Added” with a Best Buy Date of 01/16/18

    The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 31812” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to multiple distributers for further distribution.

    The problem was discovered when a distributer received two complaints from consumers involving foreign matter in the product on October 2, 2016 and October 9, 2016.

    The company received a report of a potential injury associated with consumption of this product. FSIS has received no additional reports of injury or illness from consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.

    Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

    FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify recalling firms notify their customers of the recall and that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers.     Brookwood Farms, Inc. Recalls Pulled Pork Products Due To Misbranding And An Undeclared Allergen

    WASHINGTON, Oct. 21, 2016 – Brookwood Farms, Inc., a Siler City, N.C. establishment, is recalling approximately 126,570 pounds of pulled pork products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. The product contains soy, a known allergen which is not declared on the product label.

    The fully cooked, pulled pork items were produced between June 12, 2014 and Oct. 21, 2016. The following products are subject to recall: [View Label]
    •5-lb. plastic bags containing “COOKED PULLED PORK CARNITA STYLE.”

    The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST. 1740” inside the USDA mark of inspection and code 15006 on the label. These items were distributed for institutional use nationwide.

    The problem was discovered by FSIS inspection personnel while conducting routine label verification activities.

    There have been no confirmed reports of injury, illness, or adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.

    Yoma Myanmar Tea Co. Issues Allergy Alert on Undeclared Peanuts in Yoma Myanmar Tea Salad Snack

    Yoma Myanmar Tea Co. of Allston, MA is voluntarily recalling the Yoma Myanmar brand "Tea Salad Snack" in Regular and Spicy, 7 oz., because the products may contain undeclared peanuts. People who have allergies to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

    The product comes in a 7 ounce, clear plastic package marked with an expiration date of 6/15/2018 stamped on the bottom.

    The recalled “Tea Salad Snacks" were distributed nationwide in retail stores and through mail orders.

    No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem. The error was discovered during a routine sampling by the New York Department of Agriculture and Markets Division of Food Safety and Inspection.

    The recall was initiated after it was discovered that the peanut-containing product was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of peanuts. Subsequent investigation indicates the problem was caused by a temporary breakdown in the company's production and packaging processes.

    Production of the product has been suspended until FDA and the company are certain that the problem has been corrected.

    Consumers who have purchased 7 ounce packages of “Tea Salad Snack” in regular and spicy are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 617-412-6799.

    Nutrisystem Retail Division Voluntarily Recalls One Product Containing Chocolate Cookie Dough Pieces Purchased From Third Party Supplier Due To A Possible Health Risk

    Fort Washington, PA - Nutrisystem Everyday, LLC, the retail division of Nutrisystem, Inc., is voluntarily recalling the Nutricrush Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough bar, manufactured by Noble Foods, Inc. This bar contains a chocolate chip cookie dough ingredient supplied by a third party supplier, which advised that its ingredient might potentially contain Listeria monocytogenes.

    The product had very limited distribution of 1 lot/455 cases to ShopRite and Hannaford stores in Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, Vermont, and online through Amazon.com and Walmart.com. No other code dates of this product or other Nutrisystem® products in retail are affected. No Nutrisystem ‘direct to consumer’ product is impacted in any way.

    Listeria monocytogenes is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

    This voluntary recall covers the Nutrisystem Nutricrush Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bar. The bar was sold as a 5-count carton. The product can be identified by the UPC 6 32674 85579 4, Enjoy by Aug 22 2017 and Lot Code NF082216A. All code information is found on the back panel of the carton.

    Nutrisystem is initiating this recall out of an abundance of caution. This recall is being conducted in cooperation with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Consumers should not eat the recalled product. Consumers may discard the product or return it to the ShopRite or Hannaford from where it was purchased for a full refund. Twenty-four customers of Amazon.com and Walmart.com have already been identified, instructed to discard the product, and will be issued a refund. No illnesses have been reported.

Roland Foods has notified the foreign manufacturer of the findings in order to conduct an investigation as to what caused the problem.

    Graceleigh, Inc. d/b/a Sammy’s Milk is recalling all lots of Sammy’s Milk Baby Food because of possible presence of Cronobacter, a bacteria that can cause severe and sometimes fatal blood infections or meningitis in infants and it may not provide adequate nutritional levels of iron.

    Sammy’s Milk was distributed in California to Mother’s Markets retailers and through nationwide direct delivery from www.SammysMilk.com

    This product comes in a 12.84oz white plastic container for all lot numbers with expiration dates of 11/2016 - 8/2018.

    No illnesses have been reported to date.

    This recall is being conducted as a result of the FDA’s determination that Sammy’s Milk is being marketed as an Infant Formula, not manufactured in compliance with infant formula regulations and testing to confirm the absence of the Cronobacter bacteria was not performed. Although Sammy’s Milk meets the FDA’s minimum requirement for iron content, there is no label warning that it contains low iron and supplementation may be necessary.

    General Mills Expands Flour Recall to Include Additional Dates from Last Fall
    General Mills of Minneapolis, MN, continues to collaborate with health officials to investigate a multistate outbreak of E. coli O121, and is expanding its recall of Gold Medal flour, Wondra flour, and Signature Kitchens flour to include flour made earlier in the fall that may still be in consumers' pantries. The recall is being expanded due to a newly-reported illness that appears to have stemmed from the consumption of raw dough or batter linked to flour produced last fall.

    Lee Seed Company, Inc. of Inwood, Iowa is recalling Yogurt Super Soynuts because the product contains undeclared milk. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.
    Yogurt Super Soynuts were packaged in clear plastic 16 oz. bags. Yogurt Super Soynuts were also included in seven-inch, four-section holiday tins (decorated with a golden swirl design or a horse & sleigh image). The product was sold on-line via the company’s website, www.soynuts.com, and distributed nationwide by mail order. All Yogurt Super Soynuts shipped from November 2013 through March 2016 is impacted.
    To date, there have been no reports of illnesses in connection with use of this product.
    The recall was initiated after it was discovered that the product label on the dairy-containing product did not reveal the presence of milk.

    FOOD RECALL-Hannaford Supermarkets is alerting customers of a product recall. Nature's Place Roasted Unsalted Mixed Nuts and Nature's Place Cranberry Mix have been recalled due to potential salmonella contamination.SCARBOROUGH, ME — Hannaford Supermarkets is alerting customers of a product recall. Nature's Place Roasted Unsalted Mixed Nuts and Nature's Place Cranberry Mix have been recalled due to potential salmonella contamination.

    The mixed nut products are in 9 – ounce and 9.5 – ounce packages. The item numbers are 725439 94507 and 725439 94563.

    The supplier of the items, Aurora Products, has been advised of a positive test result for Salmonella in walnuts that are contained in these products. Salmonella is an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. No illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall.

    Customers are advised to discard these products and bring the sales slip to any store to receive a full refund.
