Snow Storm Information
POWER ISSUES & WIRES
11/8/11 - Stone Street is open for traffic.
As for downed wires, there are still some hanging wires throughout Town. These are believed to be “non-live” as NSTAR has responded to all live-wire calls. The vast majority of those that are still hanging are likely Comcast or Verizon lines, specifically service lines. Those companies have crews throughout Walpole and continue to work on service issues. Regardless, residents are still urged to stay away from ALL wires. If there are concerns as to whether a found wire is live or not, the Walpole Fire Department will be able to respond for verification.
TREE DEBRIS
We have returned to normal operations on roadside clean-up. Effective today we are no longer utilizing outside contractors on the clean-up process. Our crews and contractors did an outstanding job last week making the progress that they made. Well done! Some residents, however, continue to bring private tree debris to the roadside. This is NOT an approved practice. We simply do not have the resources to continue returning to neighborhoods for debris removal. Residents are encouraged to use the Compost site or to contact a local landscaper and/or tree company if so needed.
COMPOST SITE
We will again have the Compost Site on Robbins Road open for EXTENDED HOURS this week. The schedule will be the same as last week: Monday through Friday 7:30AM to 3:30PM, and both Saturday and Sunday from 8:00AM to 4:00PM. The Compost Site will return to a normal schedule next Monday, November 14, 2011.
Once again, I want to extend our thanks to all of our community for your assistance, patience, and appreciation over the past week.
Thank you!
Michael Boynton, Town Administrator
