The Youth Services Department oversees the collections and operations of Children's and Young Adult Rooms.
The Children's Room is a resource center, providing recreational and information materials for children, preschool through grade eight, and materials of interest to parents, educators, students, writers, artists, and others concerned with children’s literature and book illustration. The Children's Room has a collection of fiction and non-fiction titles that span all subject areas, multimedia formats, and a varied selection of periodicals, paperbacks, comics, and books on CD. The collection also includes video games, DVD's, music CD's, sturdy board books, picture books, parenting information, and book and CD kits. The Children's Room has 3 public Internet workstations and a dedicated Program Room.
The Young Adult Room is a resource center for teens from ages 13 through 18, fiction titles include classics, new classics and current popular titles that appeal to the diverse population the Library serves. Comic books, popular magazines and graphic novels. Nonfiction in support of school assignments. The Youth Adult Room has 3 public Internet workstations.
