Walpole Commercial and Industrial Zoning Review Project

The EDC is undertaking a comprehensive review of the Town's commercial and industrial properties. The project will analyze the physical, economic, market, and infrastructure opportunities and constraints of Walpole’s industrial and commercial zoning districts, and identify options both for encouraging development and increasing the value of development.

The Economic Development Commission (EDC) is a Select Board appointed town commission of seven (7) members that proactively develop strategies that are consistent with other town priorities, the Walpole Downtown Area Action Plan (2015), the Downtown Walpole Parking and Economic Development Strategy (2019), the Rapid Recovery Plan (2021), the Town Master Plan, and the Town’s character to:

  • enhance the commercial and industrial tax base of the town
  • maintain existing businesses,
  • promote business expansion,
  • attract new businesses, and
  • explore opportunities for new business development
