Cultural Council

Grants Available to Support Arts & Cultural Activities

Proposals for community-oriented arts, humanities, and science programs will be accepted until October 17. Organizations, schools, and individuals are invited to apply for grants that support cultural activities in the community.

The Walpole Cultural Council has surveyed community members online and in person to solicit feedback on its 2023 - 2024 funding priorities. The responses we’ve received have indicated a wish for the Walpole Cultural Council to prioritize programming in the areas of music, nature and science, and cultural diversity.

The Walpole Cultural Council is part of a network of 329 Local Cultural Councils serving all 351 cities and towns in the Commonwealth. The LCC Program is the largest grassroots cultural funding network in the nation, supporting thousands of community-based projects in the arts, sciences and humanities every year. The state legislature provides an annual appropriation to the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency, which then allocates funds to each community.

The Walpole Cultural Council typically distributes awards anywhere from $50 to $2000. For a complete list of past grant awards, visit: https://massculturalcouncil.org/local-council/walpole/.

Application forms and more information about the Local Cultural Council Program are available online at https://www.mass-culture.org/lcc_public_applicant_guidelines.aspx.
