Memorial Pond Hydroraking Project Nov-Dec 2019

UPDATE:

The Hydroraking project has been suspended until warmer weather in the spring when the pond is not frozen and the machinery can work better. They pulled the equipment out of the water on Friday 12/20/2019 and will be back to resume the work in the spring for approximately 9 days longer.

The Memorial Pond Hydro-raking project is being funded through a grant recieved by the town to help improve the aesthetics and the quality of the pond for fish and wildlife. The grant includes the removal of some of the nuisance vegetation along the Diamond Street side, planting of  more diverse low growth aquatic vegetation which is  beneficial habitat  for fish and other wildlife, and the installation of two educational signs containing informatiohn on the history and natural featurest of Memorial Pond.
